Through It
To be precise, we must say that one does not fall off the face of the earth, but rather, he falls through it. Most often this precipitous descent is caused by an excessive wearing of the same old, tired ground, with little time or creativity expended in avoiding such a calamity in renewal and redemption. Be perfectly clear, though. It is not tradition, constancy and a rule of life that has us turning circles. These, rather, are liberating and life giving. It is usually the repetition of fallible mantras and unfounded dogmas that drive one down, down, down. That, or the fiction of the new and novel that dresses the old corpse in new names, new virtues, and tries to sell her off to the lowest bidder. Down, down, down.
