Story is still alive

It's a remarkable thing to see truly talented youth take flight. To see them traverse the stage in such a fearless manner, drawing laughter, wonder, suspicion and all manner of delight from the audience. We were all blessed to be there, to see a vision come to life in meticulous details and outstanding production values, punching well above their weight when it comes to budget or sheer manpower.

And the undaunted ability of a simple mystery, with some comedic flair, taking hold of an audience for over two hours still astounds me. For every theatre being burnt down by trite obsession with the most superficial, banal and self indulgent rot, there is another down the road, humble, unassuming, giving form and life to story and song.

I'll take that one.
