Reading, Listening
I’m sold on O. Henry, with the lush descriptions and canny characterisation of Transients in Arcadia wining me over. The Gifts of the Magi was also rather winsome, whilst lacking the technical brilliance of Transients. Have been enjoying The Fellowship of the Ring, and keep listening to Neil Young’s Guitar Solo #5 from the Dead Man soundtrack after a dear friend’s recommendation. Can happily put it on repeat. Fuzz into reverb or reverb into fuzz?
The week is a relentless one, but with plenty of graces along the way. McKeown’s Effortless is good listening at the moment, but do often feel that he’s playing in Fogg and Clear’s shadows, when it comes to habit formation, although he duly and honourably cites Fogg and his influence where he uses it most. Catching up on journalling. 1200 words in. Playing with heavy things. Trying to get enough sleep.
