Landed
So now, there is a desk. Around that desk is a home half the size to what we're accustomed to, which has been a lovely transition thus far. I think about Pa, Ma, Laura, Mary and Baby Carrie moving into the dugout, and I think yes, this will do nicely, for the time being, whilst we build a new life. Around that home, is a small town, much smaller than what we're accustomed to. Much, much smaller, but quaint, charming, welcoming, and reminiscent of Dreher's 'Benedict Option' in more ways than one. The desk smells clean and new. The house is all stilled and there is time for prayer, but I need to make time for reading. My labours have subsided for some time, but there are a lot of loose ends which I keep wanting to set alight, but seemingly restrain myself. The kids are happy, joyful moreso, aside from minor catastrophes such as breakfast options and more scraped knees than we racked up in the ten years before this one.
So much to feel blessed for, more than I deserve.
