Watched a couple of Rogan interviews on intermittent fasting, reminded of the metabolic benefits of time restricted eating. Was also surprised to see that coffee (wait for it) was enough to begin the metabolic processes that strictly speaking, ended a fast, as the caffeine, I think it was, has to be processed by the liver etc. So a couple of brief observations. One, that I need to get back into the time restricted eating, particularly considering some terrible snacking habits and the resultant, doughy waistline that inevitably follows.
Two, that I’m going to keep coffee out of the fasting period, which could be tough to start with, but ultimately worthwhile. Three, that getting four coffees down in an eight hour period may seem excessive, but probably a blast.
The late night solitude, prayer, training and writing continue to reap a harvest of good fruits, and the right sequencing of disciplines works well to revive a body for the next, should you need it. Also, winding down is easy enough, when I finish with reading. Many nights however, like this one, it seems to make little difference.
